About Us

For more than 28 years Deacon Digest has served the Catholic Church as the United States’ only national publication for permanent deacons and their families.

Through our relationship with the National Association of Diaconate Directors (NADD), the National Diaconate Institute for Continuing Education, and various deacon formation and ministry programs throughout the country, we able to provide timely and meaningful formation and enrichment for deacons in their ministry. Supported by the work of the Benedictine monks of St. Meinrad Archabbey and the staff of Abbey Press Publications, Deacon Digest addresses wide-ranging issues from international, national and local perspectives.

In January 2012 we will introduce a new editorial outline, based on the National Directory for the Formation, Ministry, and Life of Permanent Deacons in the United States, focusing on the areas of INTELLECTUAL, SPIRITUAL, PASTORAL, and HUMAN formation. This new editorial vision will allow us to provide a more diverse and forward-thinking support to deacons as seek to serve God and the Church more effectively.
